Locals around the South Central Texas region are fortunate to have a decent amount of options when it comes to purchasing wakesurfing and watersports gear. There are some shops in San Antonio, and even more in Austin. However, almost exactly in the middle of those two cities is our hometown of New Braunfels, Tx. Home to Wurstfest (it’s a thing… look it up!), a giant waterpark, and of course, Texas Ski Ranch (TSR)!
To give everyone a little background, TSR is a full-size cable park that’s been around for years. Naturally, they started a boardshop inside the building aptly dubbed “The Boardshop at TSR” and it was great! It was a personal favorite of ours as we spent many hours walking through the aisles checking out all of the new gear and always wondering if it was okay to be dripping wet from the cable park while doing so. Honestly… we still don’t know if it is… so play it cool, alright?
Not too long ago TSR and BoardCo teamed up to make BoardCo at TSR. Although it had a new name and new look, it kept the same level of great service, awesome selection, and variety of products. We caught up with the Shop Manager, Brad Nixon, to get the details on what BoardCo at TSR has to offer!

WSM: How can everyone find you? Where all are you located?
BoardCo: We have a large online presence through our website www.boardco.com, and we try to keep up on social media between our two shops, @boardco, and @boardcogoods on Instagram. Our Facebook Pages are boardco.com, or Boardcoboats if you are looking at a new Centurion, or Supreme boat!
We have 3 physical locations. Our BoardCo “Headquarters” which is our flagship store is a warehouse, boat dealership, and storefront. It’s located in Springville, Utah which is about 40 minutes south of Salt Lake City.

We also have a small shop inside Wake Island Cable park which is located in Sacramento California as well as our Boardshop located here inside of Texas Ski Ranch in New Braunfels. Both our Utah location, and Texas location, offer a lot more than the typical boardshop. Come see for yourself!
WSM: How did BoardCo in TSR come to be?
BoardCo: Just over 2 years ago, we got the opportunity to take over the boardshop inside Texas Ski Ranch and run it as one of our own shops. We have had a few satellite locations in the past, and with TSR being such a famous cable park in the US, we decided it was a good fit!
WSM: Wakesurfing Specific – what all do you offer?
BoardCo: We carry a pretty great range in wakesurf boards, vests, ropes, wake shapers, ballast bags, and carrying cases. We also offer some minor ding repair kits, surf traction pads, and wax.
WSM: Wakesurfing specific – what brands do you carry?
BoardCo: We carry custom shaped wakesurf brands as well as the top wake brands in the industry! We have an awesome selection of wakesurfers, some of the major brands we stock are; Hyperlite, Liquid Force, Ronix, Slingshot, Phase5, Inland Surfer, SoulCraft, Brigade, Byerly, CWB, and Erie.
Hyperlite has recently teamed up with Varial Surf foam and we have started to get really excited about their new shapes and the direction they are heading.
WSM: Non-wakesurfing specific – what all do you offer?
BoardCo: We love everything water related here at BoardCo. We have a huge selection of wakeboard gear, along with slalom and combo ski’s, kneeboards, tubes, wakeskates, and pretty much anything else water related. We also offer some skateboards and longboards too!
We ave a lot of great name-brand apparel at both our Texas and Utah locations which includes both streetwear, or beachwear, for men and women. Our Texas location is actually about 50% softgoods and accessories.
We have a great performance guarantee on all of our boards. We offer a lifetime return policy on products, as long as it is in new condition, which is huge for wakesurf boards. What I like in a board isn’t necessarily going to be what you like in a board. So this gives customers the opportunity to find the right board for them without feeling pressured into a board they aren’t too sure on and will regret in 4 months.
