Minneapolis, MN —- The launch of Wakesurfer.com, a first of its kind wakesurf-specific online shopping and brand collaboration platform, was announced this week. Founded by wakesurfing enthusiasts, Wakesurfer aims to break through the current watersports product clutter and provide a curated selection of core wakesurfing products by brands that are committed solely to wakesurfing. Core product lines will also sit alongside clothing brands with fresh styles from surf and outdoor companies, ultimately bringing the highest quality and most authentic products to the consumer in one convenient place.
It’s no secret that wakesurfing has exploded in popularity in the past few years, and with it, an increased need for niche, top-performing products for both fashion and function. Founder Abel Nelson noticed that the market was full of companies that offered wakesurfing products as an afterthought to their ski and wakeboard lines and saw a need for a specialized “by wakesurfers, for wakesurfers” marketplace.
“We are passionate about providing people a one-stop shop for the best products in the wakesurfing industry and collaborating with brands with the expertise and vibe that people are looking for, “said Abel. “Everyone should be able to look and feel good while both in and out of the water, and we want to make that easier than ever,” adds Abel.
From beginners to seasoned enthusiasts, Wakesurfer’s offerings have something for everyone and include boards, apparel, gear and accessories from top and unique brands such as fellow Minnesota companies Idol Surfboards and Duluth Pack, and Costa Rica’s surf bikini Tica Surf– from basics to high end must haves.
In addition to retail, Wakesufer aims to expand within the first year into a centralized resource hub with engaging content and resources such as videos, product reviews, blogs and discussion forums. Wakesurfer will also continue to add key partnerships and limited release items through the holiday season and beyond as it rapidly expands its product lines and licensing partnerships.
