Wakeboarding at Sandals Resorts is an exhilarating activity that gives an adrenaline rush and adds extra fun to the luxury of an all-inclusive vacation. Even though I can’t wake surf, the experience of wakeboarding at Sandals was one I wouldn’t forget.
Having been to every Sandals resort, we have found that each one has its own unique vibe, including activities and entertainment options. For those who don’t know, Sandals Resorts are adults-only and all-inclusive, and they pride themselves on having the largest complimentary watersports operation in the Caribbean.
Many Caribbean all-inclusive resorts have non-motorized water activities included in your rate. However, not many have motorized water activities like wakeboarding included, as Sandals does.
Sandals Resorts Overview
Sandals is an iconic brand that offers a romantic and relaxing vacation suited only for couples. Spread across the Caribbean, there are 16 Sandals resorts located in Grenada, St. Lucia, The Bahamas, Curacao, Antigua, Jamaica, and Barbados.
Since the resorts are adults-only and geared to couples, Sandals resorts are perfect for a romantic getaway or honeymoon. While staying at a Sandals resort isn’t cheap, it is more than worth it. The all-inclusive rate covers everything you need to have an unforgettable vacation.
Food, drinks (including premium liquor), entertainment, activities, airport transfers, and even all tips and taxes are included in the price. Plus, Sandals stands out for its luxurious accommodations and amenities. And even though they may seem pricier than other all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, there are a number of ways to save on your Sandals vacation.
Not only can you expect a stress-free vacation, but you will stay in swanky rooms, cool off in one of the many pools, and dine at beachfront restaurants. Not to mention, the customer service is top-notch and always improving.
Another great thing about Sandals Resorts is that they are truly all-inclusive. There are resorts that say they are all-inclusive, but then you have to pay extra for certain specialty restaurants, premium cocktails, or activities.
You don’t have to worry about that at Sandals Resorts. Sandals are truly some of the best all-inclusive resorts with watersports included, Guests can order drinks with top-shelf liquors, eat at any restaurant, and partake in any of the watersport activities, including wakeboarding, at no additional cost.
Watersports at Sandals Resorts
What water sports are included in Sandals? The list of motorized and non-motorized watersports at Sandals resorts is pretty impressive. Sandals is said to have the largest watersports operation in the Caribbean, which includes top-of-line gear and is guided by professional instructors. Plus, they have the highest ratio of certified instructors per guest of any other resort.
While not every watersport activity is available at all Sandals resorts, there is still plenty to enjoy. The watersport activities that are included at every resort are kneeboarding, aquatrikes, snorkeling, Hobie cat sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and scuba diving for certified divers.
One of the watersport activities that aren’t available at all Sandals resorts is wakeboarding and waterskiing. If you want to do waterskiing or wakeboarding at Sandals, read on to learn where it’s offered.
Which Sandals Resort Has Wakeboarding?
Currently, there are 5 Sandals resorts with wakeboarding and waterskiing (all complimentary). Each one has its own state-of-the-art wakeboarding equipment and experienced instructors to guide you.
The Sandals resorts with wakeboarding and waterskiing are Sandals Negril, Sandals Montego Bay, and Sandals South Coast in Jamaica and Sandals Halcyon Beach and Sandals Grande St. Lucian in St. Lucia.
At each resort, guests can wakeboard behind a professional Mastercraft boat. Plus, you aren’t on a lake; you are wakeboarding in the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean. This makes these some of the best Sandals resorts for watersports, since they also offer all the other activities that the other locations do.
Wakeboarding at Sandals Resorts in Jamaica
Sandals Negril
Located on the iconic Seven Mile Beach in Jamaica, Sandals Negril is one of our favorite Sandals resorts in Jamaica (and it may be our top choice). While it is just as amazing as the other Sandals resorts we have been to, the sunsets you are blessed with are second to none.
Plus, Seven Mile Beach is famous in Jamaica for a reason. The water along the beach is calm and is perfect for wakeboarding, waterskiing, and other water activities. Plus, you can snorkel right off of the beach, which is filled with marine life.
Sandals Montego Bay
Located on a private white sand beach, Sandals Montego Bay is a recently renovated resort that many believe is the best in the area. Like at Sandals Negril, the crystal clear waters are calm, making it ideal for wakeboarding and other watersports.
One plus of Sandals Montego Bay is that the beach is completely private. You can lounge under umbrellas while servers bring you tropical cocktails, and no one will bother you.
Sandals South Coast
Sandals South Coast is situated on a 2-mile stretch of white sand beach surrounded by acres of lush tropical forest. This resort is highly sought after by honeymooners due to its over-the-water bungalows.
When you aren’t sipping pina coladas on the beach or hanging at the Over-the-Water Bar, there are plenty of water and land activities to enjoy. Sandals South Coast includes wakeboarding, waterskiing, scuba diving for certified divers, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and Hobie Cat sailing.
Wakeboarding at Sandals Resorts in St. Lucia
Sandals Grande St. Lucian
St. Lucia is considered one of the most romantic Caribbean Islands and for a good reason. The stunning landscape is enough for any couple to fall in love with each other all over again. Not only does it have jaw-dropping scenery and gorgeous beaches, but the list of water activities at Sandals Grande St. Lucian is long enough to keep you busy.
The resort itself is on a private peninsula with a long white sand beach. The waters here are the calmest in St. Lucia, which is perfect for wakeboarding. To wakeboard, the crew will have you get in the water at the beach and pick you up for a trip around the resort. While wakeboarding or waterskiing, you will have views of the dynamic Piton mountains and the historic Fort Rodney.
Sandals Halcyon Beach
Another resort on St. Lucia is Sandals Halcyon Beach, the quietest of the three Sandals resorts on the island. If you are looking for peace and quiet with your loved one, this is the one to go to. Plus, this is the cheapest Sandals resort in St. Lucia if you want the best bang for your buck.
Even though the water here isn’t as clear as at Sandals Grande St Lucian, the beach is still beautiful with plenty of space to relax, and the wide range of complimentary watersports includes wakeboarding.
